How Curriculum Works at LCA
At Larose Christian Academy, you choose the curriculum and you teach— we handle the legal coverage, records, and transcripts. Here's exactly how the pieces fit together.
The LCA Learning Model
Three simple pieces. You bring the teaching; we bring the coverage and support.
1. Legal Coverage & Records
Your tuition covers administrative services, record-keeping, and legal oversight under our Alabama church school. We keep your student file, report cards, and transcripts.
2. Your Curriculum Choice
You pick the materials and teach your way. Free online resources are included with membership; printed curriculum books are purchased separately.
3. Records That Follow
Use the Parent Portal to track progress, upload report cards, and access your student's official records whenever you need them.
Two Ways to Build Your Curriculum
Both paths work with LCA. Choose the one that fits your family — you can mix them too.
Path A — Free Resources (included)
Every LCA membership includes free curriculum resources — Khan Academy, Discovery K12, and the others below. No extra cost, no sign-up fees. Use one platform or combine several to cover every subject.
Cost: $0 — included with your tuition.
See the free resources ↓Path B — Structured Books (purchased)
For families that prefer printed, structured materials, we recommend ACE PACE curriculum sets from Christianbook.com — a complete grade-level set of workbooks and answer keys. Books are purchased separately (tuition does not include them).
Cost: Books only — you buy the set for your child's grade. Buying direct means you pay the same price a school would, without any school markup — and you can use the books for every child in your family.
Shop ACE PACE Sets →How Grades & Records Work
Whether you choose free online resources or printed books, the grading loop is the same — and it's what makes LCA your school, not just a paperwork service.
Your child does the work
Lessons from free platforms like Khan Academy or Discovery K12, or printed workbooks like ACE PACE sets. Whatever you chose in Path A or Path B.
You grade it at home
You're the teacher, and you have the answers — ACE PACE sets include answer keys, and online platforms score automatically. Grade the work, then keep a photo or copy of anything you want in the official record.
Enter the grade in the Parent Portal
Sign in, open your child's dashboard, and add the grade — subject, assignment, and score. You can also upload a screenshot of the work as proof. It takes about a minute per assignment.
LCA turns it into official records
Your entries build the gradebook automatically, which becomes report cards and transcripts — the official records your family can use for college, transfers, and more. We keep them safe and ready whenever you need them.
Free Resources Included With Your Membership
These platforms are free and open to everyone — and they're already included in your LCA tuition. Use them alongside your enrollment to build a complete education plan.

Some schools bundle curriculum and charge extra for it; with LCA, you buy what you need, when you need it, and nothing more.
